He Fights For us
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
When Daniel’s fellow administrators plotted against Him, not only was his position in jeopardy, but his very life. His colleagues knew they couldn’t find fault in the way he handled government affairs or his character. They knew he was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. They concluded that the only way to trip him up would be in his devotion to God (Daniel 6:4-5).
So they went to King Darius and requested that he do something they knew would soothe his ego. They requested that he sign a decree that no one should pray to any god but the king for thirty days. Anyone found to be disobedient to the decree would be thrown into the den of lions. They convinced Darius to issue and sign the official decree. A decree that could not be revoked (Daniel 6:6-9). When Daniel heard about this, he did what he always did when faced with impossible situations - he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God (Daniel 6:6-10).
No Weapon Formed Against Us Will Prosper
Daniel didn’t go to the king and beg him to overturn his decree. He knew the king couldn’t do this because it would compromise his authority. No, Daniel did what he always did – he went to the risen King of kings. He gave Him his fear and anxiety. He pleaded his case before the One who had all authority. The One who would fight for him in his impossible situation. The One whom he knew will render the weapons formed against him powerless.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17a (NKJV)
This is the Word of the Lord through Isaiah to the people of Israel, but also to us today when we face impossible situations. We will all face impossible situations at some point in our lives. A loved one, or we ourselves, may receive a doctor’s report that says there is no hope. Medical science doesn’t have the answer. We may have appealed to the authorities in a legal matter, and they say they cannot help us. The matter is out of their hands. We may have applied to enter higher education or a job, but despite our credentials, we are not accepted. All doors seem to be closed.
What is our response? We can either give up or, like Daniel, take our matter to the Highest Authority, Jesus, our King, who fights our battles for us. Let us be still before Him and wait so that He can give us the victory and reveal His glory.
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 40:5 (NLT)

Are you facing an impossible situation? Why not trust our King of kings? He is mighty to save.
Prayer:
Lord, You see this impossible situation I am facing. I plead my case before you. I ask You, Lord, to render every weapon formed against me powerless and fight for me. I trust Your miraculous power. In Jesus’ name, amen.
