The Mighty Name of Jesus
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4 (NIV)
My husband and I have had our fair share of struggles and difficulties over the past years that have left us battle-weary. Recently we discovered the song Mighty Name of Jesus by Hope Darst. The powerful lyrics, undergirded by Scripture, can be seen as a battle cry when we feel overwhelmed by the cares of this world. Here are some of the lyrics.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I know that all the power of fear and darkness must go.
Every key to every victory, I hold in the mighty name of Jesus
When we invoke the mighty name of Jesus, we declare that the power of darkness has no hold over us. We declare that fear, anxiety and worry have no hold on us and have to leave. We declare we have victory over every attack of Satan in the mighty name of Jesus.
I draw a permanent boundary line. The enemy has no right to come near my family.
No scheme could ever undo God's plans
No matter the circumstance, the cross has sealed my destiny
The Plans of the Lord Stand Firm
As we invoke the name of Jesus, we are declaring into the atmosphere that the enemy of our souls, Satan, has no right to intrude into our lives and that of our loved ones, causing chaos and destruction. We proclaim that the plans and schemes of the enemy will not prevail. We proclaim that the plans of the Lord Jesus for our lives will stand firm forever (Psalm 33:11). His destiny for our lives has been sealed through His death on the cross.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Calling on the power of Heaven, I proclaim
That every weapon formed against me must break in the mighty name of Jesus
We have been given the authority to proclaim that no weapon turned against us will succeed. We have been given the authority to silence every voice that rises up against us to accuse us. This is our inheritance as children of the Most High God. Our inheritance as followers of Jesus Christ. Our inheritance is to proclaim the mighty name of Jesus over the darkness so that every stronghold is demolished.
No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken! Isaiah 54:17 (NLT)

Are you battle-weary from the struggles you are facing? Take time to declare the mighty name of Jesus over your situation.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You see that I am weary of fighting this battle I find myself in. Give me the strength to rise up and invoke Your name over my situation so that the plans of Satan will be thwarted. Give me the strength to silence every voice that rises up to accuse me in Jesus’ name, amen.
